Stamp Duty Concessions/ Exemptions

Purchasers - If you hold a valid Concession Card at the settlement of your property you may be entitled to an exemption or concession on the amount of stamp duty payable. Contact our office for more information and to see if you are illegible.

First Home Owners Grants

Government financial assistance for first home buyers is available. Since the assistance was introduced it has been welcomed not only by first home buyers but also vendors and builders. We can assist with your enquiry.
A higher level of assistance remains for first home buyers who are purchasing a new home.

Within metropolitan Melbourne $18,000 can be accessed, comprising the Grant ($7,000) and the Bonus ($11,000). The Federal Government Boost, which was worth $7,000, ceased on 31 December, 2009.

If your first home is a newly constructed one outside metropolitan Melbourne, a total of $22,500 worth of assistance can be accessed. This comprises the Grant ($7,000), the Bonus ($11,000) and the Regional Bonus, which is worth $4,500.

The Federal Government Boost, which was worth $7,000, ceased on 31 December, 2009.
The First Home Owners Grant, which was introduced on 1 July, 2000 to offset the effect of the GST on home ownership.
